Anixter, Wolseley adapt to challenges in Europe

Anixter and Wolseley have both indicated that they plan to reduce their operating costs in response to weak sales in Europe. Anixter last month reported that it was profitable in the first quarter but that profits had decreased 23% from the previous year. Wolseley recently reported flat or declining sales in France, the U.K. and the Nordic region.
