ASX aims to open OTC derivatives clearing service to locals

State government treasuries and a group of fund managers support the Australian Securities Exchange's plan to allow local managers and investors to use its proposed clearing service for over-the-counter derivatives. "We believe that Australian clients should have a choice of being able to use an Australian clearing service where their collateral is protected and governed by the Australian regulatory authority," said David Dixon of Colonial First State Global Asset Management.
