Bill: Dogs in truck beds must be crated on La. highways

A bill that cleared the Louisiana House on Tuesday after failing last week mandates that dogs in truck beds be crated or otherwise secured in a ventilated container when vehicles are on the interstate. Rep. Tom Willmott sponsored the bill in an effort to curb crashes caused by unsecured pets jumping out of trucks and to save the thousands of pets killed every year being thrown from truck beds or hit by cars.
