Blu-ray discs, VOD gain favor with consumers, Nielsen says

During the second half of last year, more consumers were buying Blu-ray discs and using transactional video-on-demand services than in the same period of 2011, according to Nielsen. Nearly 84% of consumers used a Blu-ray or DVD player for watching video at home, compared with video-game consoles (45.1%) and DVRs (44.1%), the market research firm reports.
