Critics express concerns about new science standards

The Next Generation Science Standards, released last month to largely positive reviews, are drawing criticism from some who question whether the new guidelines represent an improvement over what exists in some states already. Other concerns are focused on the role of global warming in the new standards, while one think tank is warning states to be cautious in adopting the standards pending "important ancillary documents" that are forthcoming, among other concerns.
