FHFA reports on infrastructure plans for mortgage-backed securities

The Federal Housing Finance Agency issued a report Tuesday on its progress toward creation of a Common Securitization Infrastructure for residential mortgage-backed securities. The report incorporated suggestions from industry experts in response to the FHFA's initial proposal, which is to work toward decreasing Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac's role in housing finance.
