Financing round brings in $20M for maker of genetic research tools

RainDance Technologies, which specializes in developing genetic research tools, secured $20 million in a Series E funding round. The Massachusetts-based firm plans to use the money to widen the reach of its products including its ThunderStorm sequencing and RainDrop digital PCR technologies. Proceeds will also go toward commercial operations and the expansion of production capacity.
