Ill. college to open 1-year program for aspiring rail technicians

Classes for a one-year certification program for aspiring rail technicians are scheduled to begin this fall at Spoon River College in Canton, Ill., and Carl Sandburg College in Galesburg, Ill. Students who complete the course will have the opportunity to be part of BNSF's workforce as engine technicians. "It’s going to be a nice partnership of business, industry and education working together,” SRC President Curt Oldfield said.
