Let's end health care disparities, speaker urges

Keynote speaker James Galloway, M.D., urged family physicians attending the recent AAFP National Conference of Special Constituencies in Kansas City, Mo., to hone and harness their leadership skills to help end health care disparities. He said the Affordable Care Act offers opportunities to focus on preventive and chronic disease care, improve care coordination, boost the number of physicians in underserved areas, end insurance discrimination and offer affordable insurance coverage.
