Mo. has lowest cost for long-term care, study finds

Missouri, Louisiana and Alabama are the states with the lowest long-term-care costs, according to a ranking by Genworth, which takes into account adult day care, licensed home care, assisted living and nursing home costs. Missouri, the cheapest state, has an average annual cost of $35,645. Genworth found the median cost of a private nursing-home room has risen by 4.45% annually over the past five years.
