New program looks to create opportunities in tech for exiting troops

Thousands of U.S. service members preparing to transition out of the military and into the civilian sector will find new opportunities in the tech industry waiting for them thanks to a nascent public-private program sponsored by the Obama administration. The IT Training and Certification Partnership, which includes participation from industry heavy-hitters such as Hewlett-Packard, Cisco and Microsoft, will enable those in the military to enhance their IT skills with civilian certifications in a dozen high-demand technology jobs.
