N.H. regulators urged to give towns jurisdiction over wind project

The selectmen of Sharon, N.H., wrote a letter to the state Department of Environmental Services Site Evaluation Committee requesting that the proposed Timbertop Wind project be assessed under local land-use rules rather than by the committee. The ordinances of Sharon and the neighboring towns of Temple and New Ipswich can adequately minimize the project's impact, the selectmen wrote, adding that the project's capacity is not big enough to trigger state jurisdiction.
