Obama emphasizes commitment to scientific funding

In remarks honoring the 150th anniversary of the National Academy of Sciences, President Barack Obama said he would continue to push for investments in science and strive to keep politics out of the review process. "As long as I am president, we are going to continue to invest in the big ideas generated by you and your institutions," he said. "I am committed to it because that is what makes us special and who we are."
