Platelet reactivity linked to risks in endovascular procedures

A study in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology found that increased on-treatment platelet reactivity was tied to a greater risk of adverse clinical events with peripheral endovascular procedures. Basing antiplatelet treatment levels on point-of-care tests could lead to better outcomes for patients, the authors said.
