South Korean trade surplus down in April

In a possible early indicator of the effects of the falling Japanese yen, South Korea's trade surplus fell to US$2.58 billion last month from US$3.36 billion in March. Exports were up 0.5% for the first four months of the year, but officials warned that the yen effect is likely to persist.
