SPIL posts Q1 loss after settling Tessera patent lawsuit

Siliconware Precision Industries reported a net loss of $9.88 million for the first quarter after absorbing $30 million in settlement costs related to patent litigation with Tessera Technologies. First-quarter revenue was down 8.6% year-over-year, according to SPIL.
