Work on Calif. university building resumes after surety selects new contractor

Construction of a $6.5 million science education building at the University of California, Santa Barbara, is again underway after the original contractor was removed when the project fell months behind the August 2011 contract date. A surety company obtained bids for the completion of the contract in accordance with the terms and conditions, and selected a new contractor to finish the work, said the university's director of news and media relations.
