Yahoo couples new shows with new ways to advertise

Yahoo announced a new lineup of online shows at the Digital NewFronts, including Ed Helms as a four-inch crime fighter, John Stamos interviewing celebrities about their loss of virginity, and Cheryl Hines and Rachel Harris sharing a beleaguered personal assistant. Novel ad formats include performance-based native ads "embedded in the personalized content stream on the new Yahoo home page; and 'billboard,' which is positioned at the top of the Yahoo home page, and was designed to offer rich and immersive interactions," Gavin O'Malley of Online Media Daily writes.
