Kan. lawmakers consider allowing non-dentists to pull baby teeth

The Kansas House passed a bill allowing dental practitioners to pull baby teeth. Advocacy group Kansas Action for Children supports the bill, but the state dental association opposes expanding hygienists' scope of practice, in part because it might discourage dentists from moving to underserved areas. Fifteen of Kansas' 105 counties have no dentist, and many others have only one or two.
