3D printer brings together electronics, tissue to create a human ear

Standard 3D printing equipment was the key in overcoming the challenges of interfacing electronic and biological materials as Princeton University researchers for the first time created functional ears. The printer was able to follow complex contours impossible with scaffolding as it integrated silver nano-particles and tissue.
