Ala. hospital taps telemedicine to provide neurological care

Rural hospitals increasingly are turning to telemedicine to address the unique challenges they face, including recruiting doctors to small and economically depressed areas. Dale Medical Center, a rural hospital in Alabama, is working with Southeast Alabama Medical Center to use telemedicine to give its patients access to neurologists. The hospital also aims to eventually use the technology to provide psychiatry and cardiology services.
