Calif. city council increases landing fee at airport

The Santa Monica, Calif., City Council has voted to raise the landing fee for aircraft using the airport. Even student pilots will be assessed $10.96 for every touch-and-go. The city says the airport falls short of its budget. The fee is scheduled to come into effect Aug. 1.
