Coordination between food-service staffers and floor nurses led to patients with diabetes receiving prandial insulin on time more often, according to researchers from Southern Illinois University. Coordinated care also led to shorter times in receiving insulin after meals, which allows for improved dosing and glycemic control, researchers said at a conference.
