Companies may seek legal liability protection from cyberattacks under the Support Anti-terrorism by Fostering Effective Technologies Act of 2002, a legal expert said. The American Chemistry Council is one of the organizations that have secured liability limits for products and services in case of cyberattacks, according to this article. ACC's Responsible Care Security Program is also certified by the Department of Homeland Security as an anti-terrorism measure under the 2002 law.
