Harris Teeter posts 8.7% profit boost

Harris Teeter posted an 8.7% profit increase, on a 4.3% rise in sales. "We are very pleased with our results for the second quarter," said Chairman and CEO Thomas W. Dickson. "Our comparable-store sales increase, which was favorably impacted by the shift of the Easter holiday, remained strong despite the fact that we did not see any meaningful inflation during this period."
