Industry heavyweights battle for public-cloud business customers

Amazon Web Services and Microsoft's Windows Azure cloud service have become big businesses on their own, and the Google Compute Engine infrastructure will soon be joining the public-cloud marketplace as bigger organizations follow small companies and startups to the public cloud, this analysis notes. As Forrester Research's James Staten wrote in a blog post, "Cloud use is no longer solely hiding in the shadows; IT departments are no longer denying it's happening in their company, and legitimate budgeting around cloud is now taking place."
