Intel fills CEO spot with COO Krzanich, appoints new president

Brian Krzanich, the executive vice president and chief operating officer of Intel, will succeed Paul Otellini as the chipmaker's chief executive officer on May 16. Krzanich has been with Intel since 1982 and will be the sixth CEO since the company was founded in 1968. Executive Vice President Renee James, who heads Intel's software and services business, will be promoted to president May 16.
