Miss. district shifts high-school curriculum to focus on the future

Mississippi's Gulfport School District is redesigning its high-school curriculum -- said to be a first in the state -- so that students will have the option of pursuing tracts in health and human services; communications, arts and business; or science, technology, engineering and math. Officials said each of the academic institutes will be matched with career options and students will be placed in real-life situations -- both in and outside of the classroom.
