More jobs than expected were added in April

April nonfarm payrolls increased by 165,000 -- more than analysts had expected. There were upward revisions to both March and February numbers, with February now adding 332,000 instead of the initially reported 268,000 and March moving from 88,000 to 138,000. The unemployment rate in April decreased to 7.5%. However, the construction sector lost 6,000 jobs in April.
