N.Y., Pa. groups partner in diabetes detection program

New York University and NYU Langone Medical Center are collaborating with Independence Blue Cross in Pennsylvania in an effort to identify cases of undetected diabetes with the use of machine-learning algorithms. Under the agreement, drug and medical claims data from Independence Blue Cross will be used by a team of investigators from NYU Langone Medical Center to identify patients with undiagnosed diabetes as well as prediabetes.
