Peer tutoring goes online in Ariz. district

National Honor Society students at the five high schools in an Arizona district are tutoring their peers online through the Free Resources for Online Student Tutoring program. Student tutors can assist their peers from home, while teachers periodically log on. While Jeff Billings, director of information technology for the Paradise Valley Unified School District, does not expect online tutoring to replace in-person sessions, he said it can help increase students' access to such services.
