Report: Calif. health plans expand palliative care access

A study from the California HealthCare Foundation found six of the state's major health insurers are expanding member access to palliative care. Insurers are covering specialized case management services and expanding hospice benefits beyond Medicare. "I was surprised by how much they are doing," Merry Davis of Touchstone Consulting said. Davis is a co-author of the report.
