Sprint on Wednesday said that the carrier remains on schedule to begin closing its Nextel iDEN network by the end of June as the telecom moves to execute its Network Vision upgrade strategy by deploying Nextel spectrum for 3G and 4G services. With about 1 million iDEN customers, Sprint has begun alerting subscribers, including first responders, about the move.
