Study: Many companies are cutting their 401(k) plans

The number of 401(k) plans is down by about 6% since 2009, and the number that match contributions is down 7%, according to a survey by American Investment Planners. The trend will likely continue as employers look for ways to cut costs, said Brett Goldstein, director of retirement planning at AIP.
