Study shows Ore. Medicaid expansion increased health care usage

Data from Oregon's expanded Medicaid program showed people who gained coverage had more physician and hospital visits but did not get much healthier compared with people who were not in the program. The study in the New England Journal of Medicine comes as states plan Medicaid program expansions under the Affordable Care Act. Data did show Medicaid coverage had a significant effect on the incidence of depression.
