Use of e-applications has increased since 2007, survey finds

The use of e-applications has picked up in recent years, with 81% of life and health insurers and 40% of annuity carriers now employing e-signature technology, according to a Celent survey. Less-expensive click-wrap systems, such as allowing customers to click "I accept," are used by 70% of respondents, compared with 30% in 2007, Celent found. The public-key infrastructure, which was used by one-third of respondents in 2007, is no longer in use, according to the survey.
