White House reaches out to states to fight security vulnerabilities

The Obama administration is counting on help from the states to bolster national cybersecurity efforts as it works to implement an executive order designed to increase information sharing on threats. Speaking at a gathering of the National Association of State Chief Information Officers, White House official Andy Ozment called on attendants to work proactively with the federal government to identify and secure vulnerable infrastructure, but a survey of state CIOs finds that less than one-fourth are confident they are up to the task.
