Maryland county aims to build a "science city"

The Montgomery County Council in Maryland is expected today to approve a plan to establish a "science city" that would include a $10 billion center for research and development. The county is sending a delegate to BIO's International Convention in Chicago to promote the project and encourage biotech firms to set up shop in the area, which already is home to companies including MedImmune and Human Genome Sciences.
