N.J. governor refuses to return $271 million in U.S. funds

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie says he will not return the $271 million the state received from the federal government for a tunnel project. "This is about whether that money will stay in New Jersey and be used for road projects in this state, or the federal government so it can go to another state," he said. The state could face $52,000 a week in interest charges. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood says the state broke the terms of the contract.
