2.5 pounds of skin removed from dachshund who lost 40 pounds

Veterinarians at the Emergency Veterinary Clinic of Tualatin in Oregon successfully removed 2.5 pounds of excess skin this week from a formerly obese dachshund named Obie. The rotund dog's body once dragged on the floor when he walked, but Obie lost 40 pounds in eight months, leaving him with roughly 2.5 pounds of excess skin. Obie, who is recovering well, has five more pounds to lose.
