ACI speaks out on FDA's triclosan review

The Food and Drug Administration is reviewing the safety and efficacy of the germ-killing ingredient triclosan, which is found in many antibacterial body washes and liquid soaps on the U.S. market. Brian Sansoni of the American Cleaning Institute said triclosan "is one of the most reviewed and researched ingredients used in consumer and health care products." Huffington Post writer Paul Alexander notes that despite existing information showing the ingredient's safety, the FDA's review of triclosan has lasted for four decades.
