Austin, Texas, neighborhoods vie to become Google "fiberhoods"

Neighborhood associations in Austin, Texas, are competing to be among the first to get Google Fiber's faster Internet service in 2014. Google is likely to follow the "build by demand model" it used in wiring the Kansas City area. "If your fiberhood is super-excited and you register a ton of people, you'll have the chance to get it first," Google Fiber's Jenna Wandres said.
