BoE is expected to maintain benchmark rate

The weak economy is not expected to prompt the Bank of England to cut its benchmark interest rate, which is at a record-low 0.5%. Mark Carney, the next governor of the central bank, has reiterated concerns of top policymakers at the BoE that a rate cut could be counterproductive.
