Boomers demand more variety in retirement communities

The newest generation entering retirement communities probably will not be as willing as past occupants to adapt to generic surroundings, says Leslie Moldow, a principal at design firm Perkins Eastman. "The boomers and the silent generation are more geared to, 'I'm me, I'm unique, I have my own philosophy, etc., so I want a community really tailored to me.'"
