CFM prepares for production of Leap-1B with design freeze

Engineers should begin producing parts for CFM's Leap-1B turbofan variant for Boeing's 737 by the end of the year after CFM froze design development on schedule April 29. The 1C variant, however, will be the first to fly on GE's testbed 747 about a year from now.
