Dietitian says Facts Up Front helps shoppers make healthy choices

The Facts Up Front icon program launched by GMA and the Food Marketing Institute includes a website to help shoppers understand the designation and learn to read nutrition-label information. Registered dietitian Bonnie Taub-Dix writes that while Facts Up Front icons do not tell people what choices to make, they do emphasize key nutrition information that shoppers often ignore. "Facts Up Front is not just an icon. GMA is building a campaign to build awareness to consumers, health professionals and the media," said Connie Diekman, a Facts Up Front advisory board member.
