NPD: More U.S. gamers are playing online

The NPD Group reports that 72% of gamers in the U.S. are playing online games, compared with 67% last year. More are using mobile devices to play online, although the PC remains the dominant platform for online gaming, NPD found in a survey of more than 8,800 gamers. Digital downloads are also on the rise; 62% of respondents said they prefer to buy games on discs, compared with 65% in 2012.
