Qantas CEO is focused on future gains over short-term impacts

Alan Joyce, Qantas CEO, says that next year the airline will realize the benefits of its investments in modernizing its fleet and other upgrades. During the second half of this year, he expects to see impacts from the expenses. "We've always made it clear that long term gain can't be achieved without the short-term cost of transition," Joyce said.
