Senators urge FAA to keep contract towers from closing

A group of senators is urging the Federal Aviation Administration to keep contract air-traffic control towers open. "We urge you to ensure that in addition to ending furloughs for 47,000 FAA employees, the agency also end the planned closure of 149 contract towers," the lawmakers wrote to Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood.
