Statins may improve prostate cancer survival, study finds

Researchers tracked 1,001 prostate cancer survivors for eight years and found that statin use was associated with a lower risk of death from the cancer. The risk of prostate cancer mortality was 1% among statin users and 5% among nonusers, researchers found. The findings were published in the journal The Prostate.
